Where Ayurveda Meets Yoga: A Journey Back to Natural Well-Being
Blending Ayurveda and Yoga, Anita Dua’s latest book explores balance, prevention, and mindful living in today’s fast-paced world
In a time when holistic wellness is gaining renewed importance, The Power of Ayurveda & Yoga by Anita Dua offers a timely and insightful exploration of ancient Indian healing systems. The book introduces Ayurvedic and Yogic concepts in a simple and progressive manner, making them accessible to contemporary readers.
Rooted in the wisdom of the Vedas, Ayurveda is presented as a science of longevity, where disease is understood as a condition of being “not at ease.” The book emphasizes that good health and happiness are our natural states, and that illness arises when we violate the rhythms of nature—through irregular sleep, diet, and lifestyle practices. It further describes disease as a “mistake of the intellect,” highlighting the importance of disciplined living aligned with natural cycles.
A key focus of the book is the understanding of the three Doshas—Vata (air), Pitta (fire), and Kapha (earth)—which define an individual’s constitution. According to Ayurveda, each person is a microcosm of the universe, composed of five elements: air, water, fire, space, and ether. Identifying one’s dominant Dosha is the first step towards restoring balance and achieving optimal health.
The book goes on to explain how imbalances in these Doshas lead to disease and how harmony can be restored through a combination of Ayurvedic practices and Yoga. Techniques such as Panchakarma, oil massages, and herbal preparations are discussed alongside Yoga asanas and pranayama, which are presented as powerful tools for balancing the Tridoshas. The Yogic practices are described step-by-step and demonstrated by Yog Guru Veer Singh and the author, making them easy to follow.

Speaking about the book, Anita Dua explains that it provides practical guidance for integrating Ayurveda and Yoga into daily life. “The book offers step-by-step methods to restore balance and achieve natural well-being through simple, mindful practices,” she notes.
