India Art Fair Brings IAF EDI+IONS to Ahmedabad, Celebrating the City’s Dynamic Legacy of Art, Design and Architecture

Ahmedabad, 15 September 2026: Following the success of its inaugural Hyderabad edition in 2025, India Art Fair is bringing the second edition of IAF EDI+IONS to Ahmedabad on 19–20 September 2026 at The Baronet House (Sanjay MS Raval Skill Centre).

The Ahmedabad edition brings together 18 participants, including 15 galleries, two design participants and one institution, with five galleries based in Ahmedabad. The showcase highlights the city’s distinctive artistic ecosystem while bringing together leading voices in modern and contemporary art and design from across India.

Set within the century-old Indo-Gothic Baronet House in the historic Shahibaug neighbourhood, IAF EDI+IONS Ahmedabad transforms the heritage landmark into a platform for artistic exchange, dialogue and discovery. The event brings together galleries, artists, designers, institutions, collectors, patrons and cultural practitioners, creating new connections between Ahmedabad’s creative community and the wider Indian art landscape.

A Citywide Celebration of Art and Culture

The programme begins on 18 September 2026, extending beyond the Baronet House into a citywide celebration of Ahmedabad’s cultural landscape.

The opening day features Gallery Walkthroughs at 079 | STORIES ART GALLERY, Iram Modern and Archer Art Gallery, offering visitors an opportunity to explore exhibitions and engage with artists, gallerists and curators.

At 079 | STORIES ART GALLERY, artist Khanjan Dalal presents Truth is Stranger Than Fiction, a sculptural series in ceramics. Iram Modern presents No Single Ground, bringing together works by modern masters, while Archer Art Gallery presents Parikrama, a solo presentation by Ganesh Gohain, marking his 60th birthday and bringing together narratives connected to Gujarat, Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

Also opening on 18 September is I Dwell in Possibility, a major institutional collaboration between GALLERYSKE and the Museum of Contemporary Art Ahmedabad (MCAA) at the museum’s Satellite Venue. Inspired by Emily Dickinson’s poem and its imagery of a house with “more windows” and “more doors”, the exhibition brings together works by five contemporary artists alongside books selected by Arjun Jayadev, furniture by Phantom Hands, plants by Priyesh Patel, music by Nishant Mittal and texts by Sheetal Bhatt.

Together, these elements explore the domestic space as a place where artworks, objects, ideas and experiences come into new relationships.

Art Meets Design

IAF EDI+IONS Ahmedabad also brings contemporary design into dialogue with art and architecture.

Mumbai-based jewellery studio Studio Renn presents wearable art as sculptural experimentation, while designer Ashiesh Shah brings his acclaimed practice rooted in wabi-sabi philosophy, combining indigenous craftsmanship with contemporary sensibilities across lighting, furniture and objects.

Outdoor projects by Samara Art Gallery and Public Arts Trust of India (PATI) further extend the artistic experience into the architectural landscape of the Baronet House.

Strengthening Regional Art Ecosystems

Launched in 2025, IAF EDI+IONS is conceived as a series of curated showcases across India, extending India Art Fair’s annual curatorial vision beyond Delhi. Each edition is rooted in the cultural character of its host city while connecting local creative communities with national and international audiences.

The Ahmedabad edition is presented in partnership with BMW India, which continues as Presenting Partner of IAF EDI+IONS and enters the 11th year of its collaboration with India Art Fair. House of Umrao is the Signature Partner, with programming partners including Zydus Foundation, Kanoria Centre for Arts, Kasturbhai Lalbhai Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art Ahmedabad (MCAA), Raw Mango and Architectural Digest (AD).
